Although throbbing pain on one side of the head or starting on one side of the head is the main symptom of migraine, it also may be accompanied by one or more of the following symptoms:
- Nausea or vomiting
- Increased sensitivity to light, sound, or odors
- Worsening of pain with physical activity
In addition, migraine may be accompanied by temporary visual disturbance or other neurologic symptoms. These occur in only a few patients with migraine (15%–20%).
